In an interview this week with CBC regarding the impact of event cancellations across the province, TIABC Policy Director Cassandra Zerebeski emphasized that the loss of events extends well beyond the event itself, affecting hotel occupancy, restaurant activity, and overall economic contributions to local communities. She also pointed to opportunities for stronger support, including more predictable multi-year funding, as well as increased collaboration at the municipal level through shared resources, reduced fees, and more streamlined permitting processes.
